Join Nes Bear for a 4 hour retreat of connection and restfulness in a woodland setting.
The morning shall start in the beautiful and warm Footprint building for some gentle movement before finding restfulness in restorative poses. Wrapped in soft Indian cotton blankets and resting on bolsters and blocks to allow your body to fully relax in each posture. The sounds of the river and the birds singing can be heard from inside the building whilst we practice.
Then we shall go for a mindful walk in the woodland before learning about firelighting, gathering tinder and kindling. Then we shall cook a delicious lunch on the fire. We shall practice outdoor mindfulness before ending the day with some meditation, pranayama/breathwork and sound.
The slower pace and deep breathing in restorative yoga triggers the parasympathetic nervous system from the very first pose. This activation helps to mitigate the effects of the regular fight-or-flight stress response that can be damaging to your physiology and well-being. The overall calming effect on the nervous system sets a deeply relaxing tone for the class that comforts your mind and body down to the cellular level.
